Royce Eugene Threlkel, 83, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Royce was a member of Scottsville Christian Church and was an avid Floyd Central and UK Basketball fan. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He performed for years with a band called "Royce and Friends."
He was born on October 31, 1935, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late John and Essie (Embry) Threlkel. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret (Plue) Threlkel; and 5 brothers and four sisters.
Royce is survived by his children, Connie (Benoit) Bertrand, Janet (Paul) Peck, and Denise (Rob) Ruttle; grandchildren, Meagan, Ashley, Jordan (Michael), Sarah, and John (Meaghan); and great-grandchildren, Thea, Duke, Liam, and Tristan.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday with visitation before from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow according to Royce's wishes.
The family requests that contributions in Royce's memory be made to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
