Roy William Nett, Sr.

Roy William Nett, Sr., 78, passed away Wednesday morning November 7, 2018. A 1958 graduate of St. Xavier High School in Louisville and a 1962 graduate of the University of Louisville, he was a member of the American Society of CPAs, a founding member of the Ogle Foundation, a former President of the Board of the West Clark Community Schools Corporation, a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserves.

He was born on October 28, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late David and Maude (Burt) Nett.

Roy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Anne (Aebersold); daughter, Linda Anne Applewhite (Aric); son, Roy William "Bill" Nett, Jr.; grandchildren, Logan David, Zachary John, and Elizabeth Anne Applewhite; siblings, James Nett (Patsy), Margaret Nett Werner (Butch), Louis Nett (Angela), and Leonard Nett (Allison); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (8310 St. John's Road, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to Hosparus-the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (502 Hausfeldt Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
