With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we mourn the passing of Roxanna Kessler, who left this world on August 8, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on January 10, 1958, Roxanna’s journey was marked by unwavering dedication, quiet joys, and the warmth of treasured companionship.
Roxanna’s life was a testament to diligence and pride in her work. For over 28 years, she served as a housekeeper at St. Xavier High School. She often spoke of her job with fondness, sharing that it was the best place she had ever worked. The halls she tended and the lives she touched there were better for her care and steadfast presence.
Outside of her work, Roxanna found delight in the simple pleasures of life. Summertime often found her sitting on the porch with her beloved husband Kenneth, sharing the easy quiet of the afternoon air. She loved to crochet. Roxanna harbored a special affection for travel—notably her trips to the Gulf Shore, where memories of sand and sea were collected along with the penguin figurines that adorned her shelves at home.
Her deep love for her fur babies, Tain Tain and Lucky, radiated through her days and filled her home with joy. To those who knew her, Roxanna’s cheerful demeanor and strong will were unmistakable; she faced life’s challenges with both a resilient spirit and a gentle heart.
Her legacy lives on in the countless ways she brightened the lives of those she met, a legacy built not only of actions but of the kindness and strength she offered every day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murle and Barbara Ann Fuqua and her brother, Joe Fuqua.
Roxanna leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Kenneth Kessler; son, Robert Cecil; 6 grandchildren; sister, Cinda; brothers, Tony and Allen; her fur babies, Tain Tain and Lucky and special neighbors, Victor and Jerry.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Roxanna at her visitation on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., also at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville. Following the service, everyone is welcome to gather for the graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, 4626 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Roxanna’s memory will forever illuminate the hearts of those who knew her—her laughter echoing softly, her steadfastness offering comfort, and her love enduring beyond words.
