Rosella (Newby) Payne, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
She was born on July 7, 1935, in Crocus, Kentucky, to the late Samuel and Pearl (Sewell) Newby. Rosella was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Payne.
Rosella leaves to cherish her memory her children, Joseph Wright, Pamela Speights (Mark), George Wright, Lenora Wright, Cynthia Wilson (Issac), and Shelia Payne; sister, Ovaline Pennick; brother, Paul Newby (Katherine); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Her Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Galatian Missionary Baptist Church (2020 Maryland Avenue, New Albany, Indiana) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
