Rose Mary Root, 77, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Rose worked for many years at General Electric until her retirement. She loved working with her hands and loved Garfield.
She was born on October 1, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Harry Eckert, Sr., and Emily (Smith) Sanders. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Willie Root; brother, Harry Eckert, Jr.; stepsister, Elberta Duncan; and stepbrother, Louis Sanders.
Rose is survived by her loving daughter, Teresa Wheeler.
Cremation was chosen following Rose's wishes, and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with her care.
