Roscoe Madison "Humpy" Slaughter, III, 61, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015. He enjoyed working with both technology and cars. Humpy was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a member of Howard Chapel Baptist Church.
He was born on January 30, 1953 in New Albany to Mary Margaret (Bailey) Slaughter and the late Roscoe Madison Slaughter, Jr. Along with his mother, Humpy is survived by his children, Eric Brown (Michelle), Stacey Cole (Rodney), Tammy Morgan, Brian Slaughter; siblings, Beverly Crawford (Steven), Dale Slaughter (Gina), Mark Slaughter; grandchildren, Tahj, Brendyn, Brandyn, Hannah, Reagan, Sophia, Sebastian, Jagger; nephews, Dishonne, Theron, Daria, Sterline; and a host of cousins and good friends.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Howard Chapel Baptist Church (1715 E. Market Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with his Funeral Service taking place at 1 PM. Burial with military honors will follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany.
Contributions in Humpy's memory may be made to the American Heart Association (240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222).
