Rosalie Ann Boyd

Rosalie Ann (Smith) Boyd, lovingly known as Rosie, passed away on June 18, 2026, just three days shy of her 73rd birthday.

Born on June 21, 1953, Rosalie’s life was marked by quiet acts of compassion, deep-rooted generosity, and unwavering devotion to the wellbeing of others. She was cherished by many as an avid gardener, her hands forever nurturing both the earth and the hearts of those around her. She spent much of her life caring for the children of others-offering her warmth, guidance, and steadfast love. Through these countless acts of kindness, she left an indelible mark on every life she touched. Rosalie’s nurturing presence was gentle but enduring, always marked by a willingness to put others before herself.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo Smith and Elizabeth Casey Smith; brothers, Gerald, Carl, James, Stephen, Dennis and Guy Smith; sisters, Juanita Kearney and Jeanette Williams; sisters-in-law, Rebecca and Roberta Smith.

Rosalie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Fred Boyd I; son, Fred Douglas II; daughter, Angela (Mike) O'Neil; granddaughter, Mikayla Rose O'Neil (Brandon); great-granddaughter, Luna Rose O'Neil; brothers, Mitchell (Barbara) Smith and Thomas Smith; and sister-in-law, Sue Smith.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home.
