Rosa Mae "Suga" Hill

Rosa Mae "Suga" Hill, 99, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Rosa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and Granny to her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She had a loving spirit and was always willing to help anyone in need. Rosa loved her scratch off tickets and the slot machines as well as music and dancing. She worked for IRA Cleaning Services as a supervisor for 27 years. Rosa also did domestic work for many families for a long length of time. She had a passion for entertaining at her home and serving her family and friends. Rosa will be deeply missed by many who had the honor of knowing her. She raised and cared for numerous grandchildren. 

She was born on December 1, 1925 in Eutaw, Alabama to Duncan and Annie (Posey) Dew. She is preceded in death by her father, Duncan Dew; mother, Annie Dew; children and their spouses, Mary Esther (Sam) Edwards, Robert Lee (Yolanda) Hill, Sammie Lee (Fonda) Hill, Michael Hill; siblings, Robert Dew, Walter Dew, Catherine Dew, Maggie Davis; and grandchildren, Donnisha Hill and Juan Hunt.

Rosa is survived by her loving family, son, Duncan (Saline) Hill; daughters, Genova Brooks, Diana Hill; siblings, Annie Mae Richardson, Walter Mae Dew, Virginia Terry; 12 grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
