Rosa Marie Fisher, 92, of Rochester, New York, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 Rosa lived a full and joyful life, radiating love and warmth to her husband, children, and their families. Together with her husband Jim, they built cherished friendships during their time in the Louisville and Fort Knox area, and they created lasting memories through their travels to Europe, South America, and the Dominican Republic.
A talented needlepoint artist, Rosa crafted beautiful pieces that now adorn the homes of her children and grandchildren. She was also known for her exceptional baking skills, delighting her loved ones each year with batches of Christmas cookies and an especially beloved strawberry roll cake that became a favorite among her grandchildren. Rosa’s legacy is defined by her generosity and the love she shared, touching the lives of many.
Rosa was born on December 3, 1931, in Gross-Glockersdorf, CSR, to Alois and Marie (Berg) Wellert. She was preceded in death by her father, Alois Wellert; her mother, Marie Wellert; her husband, James R. Fisher; and her brothers, Alois and Herbert Wellert.
She is survived by her loving family: her sons, Robert (Cherie) Fisher and Alois (Itza) Fisher; her grandchildren, Jillian Bruton, David Fisher, Marc Fisher, Olivia Fisher, April Fisher, Melanie Fisher, Maggie Fisher, and Allison Fisher; as well as her great-granddaughter, Aurora Rose Radford. Rosa is also survived by her sister, Helmi Forster, and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, located at 6901 Dixie Hwy. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM, with burial to take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky.
