Ronnie Louis Stumler, 77, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019. He was a United States Navy veteran that served his country during the Vietnam War. Ronnie began his career as a pipefitter for Thompson-Kissel Company in Louisville and went on to start his own career in the heating and refrigeration industry. He was a Kentucky Colonel, as well as a member of the American Legion Post 42, VFW Post 1693, and 40 & 8 Society.
He was born on November 27, 1941, in Galena, Indiana to the late Louis and Mary (Fisher) Stumler. Ronnie was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Whobrey) Stumler.
Ronnie is survived by his children, Christopher Stumler (Anne Marie), Kimberly Lapointe (Ray), Karen Stumler, Karla Kaye Ferry, Sharon Stinson, and Paul Anthony Vincent; siblings, Irvin Stumler (Pat) and Diana Receveur; grandchildren, Kandi Castonguay, Benjamin Wase, Chad Stumler, Michael Stumler, Samantha Stumler, Christopher Booker, Paul Anthony Vincent, Jr., Jessica Combs, and Brian Harrison; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) an on Friday after 9:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with entombment and military honors to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
