Ronald L. Weber, age 65, of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017.
Ron was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 18th, 1952 to the late Alvin Lee and Edna Ruth Weber (Holleman). He moved to his parents' hometown when he was 5 years old and has lived in Louisville ever since. He was a graduate of Iroquois High School and participated in both band and orchestra.
Recently retired after 35 years of service from Securitas, Ron loved having extra time to play online golf with his friends from across the globe. He said he was living the dream. From CB radios to Skype, Ron has always enjoyed using technology to meet new friends. He even met his wife, Marilyn, on the airwaves in 1977.
Back in his heyday, Ron's love for music and singing brought him joy as a member of several bands in the Louisville area, most recently "Patterns of Time". He could play any instrument you handed him, but it was his exceptional guitar and piano playing that really made him shine.
Ron was a long-time fan of the Cleveland Indians. He always looked forward to baseball season. Sometimes he'd switch his allegiance over to the Cincinnati Reds, but he would always come back to his Indians. Working most of his career in security at the Hillerich and Bradsby Company (Louisville Slugger), he was able to enjoy his love for baseball while getting paid at the same time.
Friends could count on Ron to fix their computers, crack a joke, and help out when needed. Whether they called him "Waldo", "Moonshiner", Dad, or Husband, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marilyn Y. (Pottinger) Weber; Son, Jeffrey R. Weber; Daughter, Jaime R. (Weber) Jennings and her husband, Thomas; Aunt, Doris "Jean" (Holleman) Pedro; Several Cousins; And a host of other family members and friends.
