Ronald Lee Vaughn

Ronald Lee Vaughn, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

He was born on April 3, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana to Percy, Sr. and Lorraine (Barbour) Vaughn. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Percy Vaughn, Jr. and Victor Vaughn.

Ron is survived by his son, Cardale "Cory" Vaughn; brothers, "Dr. V" L. Eugene Vaughn, Gary Vaughn (Connie), Dennis Vaughn; lifelong friend, Cornelia Sue Wright; daughter-in-law, Sharlena Vaughn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends.

Ron retired from the Water Utilities Department for the City of San Diego, California and he was also a member of the Eastern Planning Board for the City of San Diego. Ron loved to play, teach, and watch tennis; and he was a longtime member of the United States Tennis Association. His second passion was photography and like his dad, he loved taking and sharing photos with friends and family.

Ron never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking, sharing stories, and “shooting the breeze”

about everything past and present with his friends and family. He lived an adventurous life and soared like an eagle.

Ron was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville and the Jeffersonville/Clark County NAACP. His legacy is found in a lifetime of fond memories that will be recalled for years to come.

Ron's wish was to be cremated. A memorial service will take place at Wesley United Methodist Church (1201 Thomas V. Bryant Drive, Jeffersonville, IN 47130) on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 12pm-1pm followed by a celebration to honor Ron's life at The Reserve, 380 Missouri Avenue, Jeffersonville, IN.
