Ronald Andrew Tyson

On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Ronald Andrew Tyson peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and unwavering devotion to his family. Ronald was born on March 26, 1950, to the late Lillie Mae Tyson and John Tyson, Sr. He was one of four sons.

At a young age, Ronald accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His faith remained an important part of his life.

Although Ronald experienced the heartbreaking loss of his mother at an early age-a loss he carried deeply throughout his life-he faced life's challenges with quiet strength, resilience, and a smile that could brighten any room. No matter the hardships he endured, he persevered with grace and determination.

He was united in holy matrimony to Sonja Marie Tyson at the age of 19. Ronald's greatest joy was his family. He deeply loved his children and grandchildren and never considered himself too busy to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. He was a dependable father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort to those around him.

Outside of family, Ronald enjoyed cheering on his beloved University of Louisville Cardinals. Whether watching a game or talking sports, he proudly supported his Cardinals with enthusiasm.

Though Ronald is no longer with us in body, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Ronald leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughters, Angela Tyson (Don), Shannon Tyson , Elisha Morris, and Nel Malone (Stepdaughter); his sons, Shawn Tyson (Maudie), Arlandus Tyson Malone, Cousins Dr. JoAnne Flower Walker & Cathy Walker, along with his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Devon Tyson, Curtis Reed and brothers, John, Jerry, Lemuel Tyson.

His life was a testament to perseverance, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
