Ronald R. Lee was born to Herbert and Nancy Wright Lee on November 9, 1945 in New Albany, Indiana. Ron was a 1964 graduate of New Albany High School. He graduated from Indiana University Southeast with a bachelor degree in accounting. On October 11, 1969 Ron married the love of his life Tonna at Eastside Christian Church in Clarksville, Indiana. Ron was an avid IU fan. He also enjoyed sports, gardening, and watching the birds. Ron had a special gift to get to know strangers, it was the gift of gab.
Ron worked in accounting at Floyd Memorial Hospital/Baptist Health Floyd Hospital for 39 years and became the Financial Director. He also worked as a substitute teacher for Clarksville Community Schools for 10 plus years. He served in the Clarksville Community as Police Commissioner, zoning board and many years on the Clarksville Parks Board. He was a longtime member of Eastside Christian Church in Clarksville, Indiana. Ron was also very proud of his Irish heritage.
Ron is preceded in death by his loving parents and he was also the last of ten children who all proceeded him in death, Lola Pendleton, Bonnie Kaiser, Virginia Helen, Geneva Maulden, Herbert D. Lee, Darlene Brown, Doris Hawkins, Norma Crane, and Nancy Creamer.
Survivors include his bride of 55 years, Tonna Rosenberry Lee, two sons, Scott Lee and Steven (Jami) Lee; grandsons, Cooper and Cameron Lee; brother in law, Allen Brown; sister in law, Wyetta Lee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Eastside Christian Church (2319 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana) from 10:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM at Eastside Christian Church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Ron’s memory be made to Eastside Christian Church or Carefirst Hospice.
