Ronald Austin Mason, born on April 12, 1933 was called to his heavenly home on December 26, 2019.
Born the oldest of ten children, he spent his early years on the family farm in Fairdale, KY. As a young man, he was responsible for selling the harvest at the downtown hay market. His teenage years were filled with trips to Fountaine Ferry Park for its lively music scene, as well as to the sock hops at Dizzy Whizz!
His spunky nature and hair color earned him the nickname, "Red." A name his Army buddies would use throughout the time he spent serving his country in the Korean War.
He enjoyed an over forty year career working as the owner and operator of Mason Cabinet Shop. A family run business that is still in operation.
As a true man of God, he had great compassion for others and would often lend his skills for mission work in countries such as Haiti and Honduras.
His adoring wife of 54 years, Glenda, has been his business partner, travel companion and special love. They shared a wonderful life together! One filled with great adventures and deep mutual admiration.
He set a loving and heartfelt example for his children and their spouses. He was a very proud "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was an caring husband, excellent provider and all around good guy!
He will be greatly missed by us all. Amen.
