Ronald Ireland

Ronald "Ronnie" Ireland passed away on February 4, 2015. Born to John Orville Ireland, Sr. and Mary Corine Ireland on July 30, 1947. Ron was one of eight siblings. Only seven of Mary's children had the good fortune to live daily with this wonderful brother. He loved the outdoors and would rather be outside doing just about anything. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after serving his country.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Faye and brother John Ireland, Jr.

Ronnie is survived by his brother, Charles Glenn (Susan Mattingly) Ireland, Richard Allen (Sheryl) Ireland; sister, Shirley (Gene) Wiles and Patricia (Stewart) Roberts and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A gathering for Ronnie will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) from 10am-2pm with a celebration of Ronnie's life beginning at 2pm.

Ronnie was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who ever knew him. Strong, silent and imposing. What a loss and God Bless you Ronnie.

Interment will be a Valley of Rest Cemetery, LaGrange, KY.
