Ronald I. Hyde

Ronald I. Hyde was born on November 1, 1952, to the late Ozeal Darden Hyde and Louis N. Hyde in Louisville, Kentucky.

He committed his self to Christ at an early age and united with the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of the late Rev. J.L. Roberts, Sr.

Ronald was educated in the Louisville Public School system. He attended Jackson Junior High and Louisville Male High School. October 27, 1970 Ronnie married his high school sweetheart and from that union came their only daughter, DaNielle Hyde New.

Ronnie retired from the City of Louisville after working over 27 years, as a devoted & punctual employee with a tireless work ethic.
As a young man, Ronnie was known as a dapper dresser. He was also athletic and a skilled basketball player. Later in life, he enjoyed softball, horseshoe, billiards, and darts. He was an all-around sportsman. He was affiliated with several organizations, Smoketown Brotherhood, Old Timers, and was a faithful member of Mount Olive brotherhood choir. Ronnie was from the ole' school, he was a cool, calm, and loyal friend.

He was respected by all, and loved by many because his heart was genuine.
Due to his impeccable taste in men's fashion his nickname was "Pretty Hyde".
Ronnie was known for stating, "I am locally respected and internationally known"

Ronald Hyde departed this life on Friday, December 4, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozeal Darden Hyde and Louis N. Hyde. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted daughter, DaNielle Hyde New; grandsons, Jordan D. New and Justin D. New; brothers, Louis Hyde Jr. (Ruby) and Eric Hyde; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A Homegoing Celebration of Ronnie's life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church (443 E. Kentucky Street, Louisville, KY 40203), with burial to follow at Louisville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at church from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
