Ronald Everett Grant, a devoted family man, proud Army veteran, and steadfast professional, passed away on April 12, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on March 10, 1943, in Princeton, Indiana, Ronald lived a life marked by dedication, leadership, and the quiet joy of simple pleasures.
A 1961 graduate of Clarkson High School in Grayson County, Kentucky, Ronald carried the lessons he learned in his youth into every aspect of his life. His commitment to service was demonstrated early on through his proud six years of service in the United States Army. Following his military tenure, Ronald built a notable career, first with the L&N Railroad Company where he worked as a car accounting clerk for 15 years, and later dedicating 16 years to the United States Postal Service as an accounting clerk. His work was characterized by integrity and diligence, and he earned respect among his colleagues and community.
Ronald was known for his easy-going nature and his ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face. As a leader within his family, he took great pride in their growth and achievements, cherishing the successes of those he loved above all else. His personal interests reflected his zest for life; he was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and golf. Beyond his athletic pursuits, Ronald expressed his affection and creativity through poetry, often penning heartfelt verses for the love of his life.
Ronald Everett Grant’s legacy is one of steadfast loyalty, gentle leadership, and heartfelt expression. He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warmth, his love for family, and the joy he brought to those around him. Ronald’s enduring spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Pauline Grant and his step-brother, Karl Nolder.
Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 61 years, Brigitte Grant; son, Gary (Karen) Grant; daughter, Shannon (Troy) Dietzman; grandchildren, Brad (Kelly) Dietzman, Kyle Dietzman, Keegan Grant and Nalynnia Durgasingh; 7 great-grandchildren and a step-brother, Kevin Nolder.
The family will be having a private memorial service.
