Ronald demonstrated a passion for the open road, a calling he would embrace throughout his entire career. As an over-the-road truck driver, he journeyed extensively across the United States, delighting in the diverse landscapes and natural beauty each state had to offer. His distinctive cowboy hat was as much a part of his identity as his welcoming smile, earning him the affectionate nickname "Cowboy" from those who admired both his attire and his intrepid spirit.
Ronald was a man who never met a stranger; his warmth and friendliness left an indelible impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. When he was not traversing highways and byways, he cherished spending quality time with his beloved family, finding joy and comfort in their presence.
He is survived by his daughters Anna (Jeff) Martin, Rosie (Bob) Hiler, and Pamela (Bobby Newton) Vest, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. His grandchildren - Sarah Hammond, Kelly (Johnie) Blackford, Al (Jessica) Martin, Levi Martin, Ruby Martin, Aaron Martin, Josiah (Lori) Martin, Bobby (Madison) Hiler, Elizabeth (Will Neff II) Austin, and Jessica Hiler - along with fourteen great-grandchildren, all hold memories of a devoted and caring patriarch. Ronald also leaves behind his brother James (Janet) Gibson, sister Dorothey (Kenny) Reynolds, as well as several nieces and nephews, who were close to his heart.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Thomas and Katherine Gibson; his granddaughter, Patricia Vest; sister, Margaret Fraze; and his brother Terry Gibson.
Ronald Earl Gibson’s life was a testament to the joys of exploration, the importance of family bonds, and the spirit of genuine human connection. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him to embrace life’s journeys with courage, kindness, and an open heart. His legacy will forever endure in the hearts of his family and friends who loved him dearly.
