Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Gentry, Jr., a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on January 25, 1969, in Louisville, Ronnie was a beloved figure known for his unwavering faith, kindness, and remarkable ability to connect with others.
Ronnie was characterized by his strong faith in God, which served as a foundation for his life. His friendly demeanor made him approachable, and he never met a stranger. Friends and family remember his caring nature and giving spirit, as well as his courage and strength throughout the challenges he faced. Ronnie had a unique talent for bringing laughter into the lives of those around him, often brightening days with his humor.
His passions extended to being an avid fan of the University of Kentucky, reflecting his love for sports in general. He found joy in many aspects of life, from watching games to singing karaoke, where he embraced the stage with enthusiasm. Ronnie also had a keen sense of fashion, always presenting himself with style.
Above all, Ronnie's proudest accomplishments were his children and family. He took immense pride in being a father and grandfather, cherishing the moments spent with his loved ones. His legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgie and Dewey Elswick and James Roy Gentry.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Corey (Danielle) Fruechtenicht, Heaven (Cameron Robinson) Gentry and Peyton Gentry; mother, Ethel Stallings; father, Ronald Lee Gentry, Sr; grandchildren, Bentley Fruechtenicht, Kylie Fruechtenicht, Ruby Rose Fruechtenicht, Cameron Robinson, Jr.; siblings, Sheryl (Pat) Powell and Jason (Alisha) Gentry, nieces and nephews, Shelby, Caitlynn, Jaxson, Braylen, Delaney, Heather and Brittany; aunt Lou and many friends.
A visitation in honor of Ronnie will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272, on February 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the following day, February 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Ronald Lee Gentry, Jr. will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
