Ronald M. Conatser I, a loving and dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on March 19, 1956, in Louisville, KY, Ronald lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a strong sense of heritage.
In his professional life, Ronald was always hardworking and self-employed. He poured his energy into his work, showcasing a determination that reflected his unwavering commitment to supporting those he loved. He proudly served his country while enlisted in the U.S. Army, embodying the values of service and dedication that defined him.
Ronald cherished the time spent with his family, particularly enjoying moments with his son, Ronald (Pamela) Conatser II, and grandsons Ronald Conatser III and Camron Conatser. The simple joy of catching up while playing pool was a highlight of his life, embodying the warmth and love he exuded as a father and grandfather. His loving nature extended to his siblings, Robert Alan Conatser and Steve C. Conatser, with whom he shared countless memories and strengthened bonds that would last a lifetime.
He also held a special place in his heart for his fiancée, Mary Ellenburg, and maintained a respectful relationship with his former wife, Sandy Conatser, who is the mother of his son. Ronald’s connection to his family was deep-rooted, displaying his dedication and caring spirit at every turn.
An avid sports fan, he passionately supported the University of Louisville Cardinals and enjoyed taking road trips, particularly those leading to sunny Florida. His love for collecting Indian memorabilia and items representing his Cherokee heritage reflected his respect and pride for his culture.
Ronald is reunited with his beloved parents, Robert C. Conatser and Carolyn J. Boggs, as well as his sister, Teresa Akridge, his cherished wife, Norma Conatser, and sister-in-law, Chi Yong Conatser. Their spirits will forever remain entwined with his as he journeys into the beyond.
Family and friends are invited to honor Ronald’s memory during visitation on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. His funeral service will follow on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with burial to take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at 1:30 PM.
