Ronald Wayne Carter Jr. was born on October 2, 1970, in Louisville, KY, and passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2025, in Clarksville, IN, with his beloved brother by his side. He was a man of many talents and passions, best known for his work as an auto mechanic and as the proud owner of his own fencing business, which he started in Florida. Ronald was a hardworking individual who put his heart into everything he did.
Ronald was a dedicated family man who considered watching his family grow to be one of his proudest accomplishments. He found joy in every moment spent with them, from working on cars to sharing laughter over music and motorcycles. His infectious sense of humor and vibrant spirit made him the life of the party, always lighting up the room with his presence. He was not only a devoted father to his children—Cody Wayne Carter, Stephanie Banks, Jacob Carter, and Elija Carter—but also a loyal brother to Jeff, Rhonda, Ricky, and Robbie, and a grandson cherished by Shirley Tomes.
He attended Clarksville High School before graduating from Leitchfield, where he laid the groundwork for a life filled with hard work and determination. Ronald’s interests ranged from his love for horses to his passion for engaging with friends and family, reflecting his generous and warm-hearted nature.
His spirit will continue to reside in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Ronald is survived by his mother, Barbara Windell, Stepfather Michael Windell, Stepmother Faye Carter, and his brothers, Jeff, Ricky, Robbie, his sister, Rhonda Galko and stepsister Christy Windell. He is also warmly remembered by his grandchildren and the countless friends who felt the joy of his companionship throughout his life.
Ronald is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wayne Carter, Sr., and his brother, Randy Carter.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ronald’s life during a visitation on October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM, held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln in New Albany, IN.
