Roger Warren Swiger, Sr.

Roger Warren Swiger, Sr., 74, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Roger loved sports and was a devoted fan to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed bowling and watching NASCAR. Roger had a strong connection to Colliers, West Virginia and the surrounding areas where he grew up. He was a Ford enthusiast who knew how to fix just about anything on a car. Roger was a proud veteran of The United States Air Force.

He was born on April 10, 1942 in Doddridge County, West Virginia to the late Warren G. Swiger & Dolly M. (Morgan) McCoy. Roger was also preceded in death by his son in law, Dean Egler; and infant siblings, Donna, Coleen, & Norman, Jr.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Gloria (Miller) Swiger; children, Sherrie Egler, Roger Jr. (Becky), Kimberly Bradley (Dave), Mindy Lewis, Steve Lewis, Teresa Lewis; brother, Eddie Swiger (Eileen); sisters, Vera Carroll & Glenna Adrian; 20 grandchildren; 1 special grandchild, "Sweet Pea Autym Swiger Rottenbottom"; 12 great children; and his faithful canine companions, Penny & Jasper.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 6 PM Friday, November 18, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will take place at 6 PM on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home immediately following visitation.
