Roger D. Metts, age 70, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Norton Hospital's Oncology Unit. Roger was born on May 12, 1946, was a 1964 graduate of St. Xavier High School and retired from a career of carpentry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne; his father, James A. Metts; and his brother, James A. Metts, Jr.
Roger is survived by wife, Moore; daughter, Coleen McLaughlin (Tom); his mother, Thelma Reddicks Metts; five brothers, Ron (Linda), Bruce (Bea), Tim (Terri), Shannon and Kerry (Heather); four sisters, Bonnie Johnston, Darlene, Sherry and Juanice Metts. He will be greatly missed by his extended family in the Philippines, father and mother-in-law, Gil Baclig and Maricel Barrientos; sisters-in-law, Curtis, Quincy and Austine; brothers-in-law, Wayne, John and Harrelson; with many more family and friends.
Roger was a Catholic by faith, and always had a positive attitude, kept a smile on his face and never met a stranger. His love for life gave him an energy that never diminished in his 70 years.
The family has chosen cremation. A Gathering to celebrate Roger's Life will be Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2-8pm at the home of his brother, Ron.
