Roger Clyde Byrd, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family.

Roger was born on July 20, 1933 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late George Clyde Byrd and Elizabeth (Coomer) Byrd Measles. Roger was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Blanton) Byrd; siblings, Carlus Wayne Byrd, Barbara Lindsey, Carol Harvey, and Rondal Byrd.

He is survived by his children, Roger "Dale" Byrd, Elizabeth Ashby, Vicky Pascual, Sharon Simon; sisters, Martha Wagner (Don), Sue Rhea, Pamela Ballew; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; step-father, Hershel Measles; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service is at 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.
