Roger Arnold Boyd, age 86, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on October 10, 2026. He was born on April 23, 1940 in Warsaw, New York to D. Arnold and Eleanor Boyd.
Roger grew up in York, New York and at age 13, became the fifteenth boy in the United States to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout (1954). He graduated from York Central High School (1958) and then Bowling Green State University (1962) where he was a member and officer of Phi Delta Theta. He then began a stellar sales career that included several National Sales Manager positions in the coatings industry as well as the position of President at Federal International Chemicals.
Roger was also an avid golfer. Highlights of his golf games included a hole-in-one and a memorable Member-Member Championship win with a good friend. He was also very proud to regularly shoot his age each of his last five years.
He is survived by his loving wife Kay McCarthy Boyd and his children, Brady (Betty) Boyd of North Carolina and Lori (Mike) Alexander of South Carolina and their mother, Karen Smith. Survivors also include grandsons Alexander Boyd of Florida and Aaron (Elisa Burns) Boyd of France, great-grandson Sasha Burns Boyd of France and his sister, Mary Stewart of New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Roger's honor be made to The Salvation Army in Louisville, Kentucky or the Humane Society of Oldham County.
