Roderic "Drick" Oldham answered the final call to enter into eternal life on March 29, 2022 at the age of 59. Roderic was born at the Warren County Hospital on September 11, 1962. Roderic attended Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green, KY, where he famously played basketball and graduated in 1980. He also was a champion in his pee wee baseball team. Roderic attended Kentucky State University. He worked as an inventory clerk through Marriot Host at SDF International Airport since 1985.
Roderic loved University of Louisville sports, especially basketball and he particularly enjoyed watching his family members and hometown kids play in high school level sports as well. Roderick, like his mama before him, possessed a vast collection of team paraphernalia. He was a fan of food, especially pork chops!
Roderic will be most fondly remembered for his "laid back" demeanor, being cool as a fan and his affectionate nicknames for those that he loved.
Roderic was preceded in death by his parents (Inez Taylor and Lloyd Oldham), siblings (Clifton Hughes "Cliff" Taylor and Eddie Wayne "Sauce" Taylor) and (Dorothy Proffitt, Anna Wallace, Julia Oldham, James Oldham, and Herbert Oldham), and a host of aunties and uncles, and loving friends.
Roderic leaves in comfort, two elder siblings, Freddie Lee Taylor (Tikeeta Taylor) and Sheila Smith (Jerry "Bro" Smith); his daughter, (LaPaige Pillow) and grandchildren, Tucker Huffman and Tatum Huffman. Roderic is also now watching over his sister/niece, Latonya Britt Jackson (Sam Jackson) and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Cremations, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Roderic's life beginning at 1pm.
