Robin Loretta Watkins

With hearts filled with peace and joy in the promises of Christ, we celebrate the life of Robin Loretta Watkins, aged 71, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 24, 2024, peacefully at her home in Louisville, KY. While her earthly presence will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she is now healed, whole, and forever at peace in the arms of her Savior.

Robin is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Watkins; her children Boyce (Alicia) Watkins, LaTanja Watkins, and Lawrence (Carla) Watkins; her cherished grandchildren Patrice Johnson, Amina Watkins, and August Watkins; and her siblings Valeria Eberhart, Mark Couch (Valerie), Vicki Couch, Robbie Rogers, and Charles Kurt Couch (Denise). She also leaves behind countless friends and colleagues who were touched by her kindness and insight.

Robin was preceded in death by her beloved son Kenyatta Jormal Watkins; her mother, Felicia Couch; her father, Robert Couch; and her brothers Donald Couch and Charles Couch (Janice).

Robin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Louisville and dedicated her professional life to serving and uplifting others. She was a Counselor with the Teenage Parent Program and a Social Worker at Fairdale High School, where she provided encouragement and guidance to countless students. A passionate leader in Bible Study Fellowship, Robin’s faith and love for the Lord inspired all who knew her.

Robin had a remarkable gift for connecting with people. Her keen insight allowed her to see into the hearts of others, meeting them where they were and helping them find their path forward. She loved to laugh, bringing joy and light into every room, and her dedication to her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

Robin and Larry shared a beautiful 50-year marriage filled with love, devotion, and faith, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Chapel in Louisville, KY. Her celebration of life service will follow on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Shively Heights, also in Louisville. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor her memory.

Flowers are appreciated, as they reflect Robin’s love for beauty and life’s simple joys.

Robin’s legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the lives she touched. Though we grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now experiencing the eternal joy she so faithfully believed in.
