Roberto Salas

Roberto "Robert" Salas, age 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on June 19, 2026. Born on April 14, 1957, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Robert lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1994 as a Medic, caring for fellow soldiers and serving his country during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was deeply proud of his military service and grateful for the opportunity to serve the nation he loved. Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A man of quiet strength, he was never the loudest person in the room, but when he spoke, people listened. Whether sharing a thoughtful insight, practical advice, or a perfectly timed joke, his words always carried meaning. His greatest joy was his family. He shared an enduring love with his wife Donna, and was a devoted father to Lorri and a proud grandfather to Kira. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand, fix what was broken, build what was needed, and show up when family or friends needed him most.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Josepha Hernandez Salas and Apolonio Salas.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Donna R. Salas; his daughter, Lorri A. Roberts (Gil); and his treasured granddaughter, Kira Roberts. He is also survived by his siblings, Victor Salas (Santa), Apolonio Salas (Shanelle), and Martha Hernandez; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him. Those who knew Robert will remember his quiet strength, steadfast character, and unwavering devotion to his family and country. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he touched, and the family he loved so completely.

Visitation will be from 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243, with a celebration of Robert's life to follow at 5:30pm.
