Roberta Williams was born January 21, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the parents of Dollie M. Taylor and Robert L. Briscoe, Sr. They both preceded her in death.
Roberta attended schools in Covington, KY where she was partially raised by her grandmother and then moved to Louisville, KY after the passing of her grandmother. She has attended schools in Jefferson County and graduated from Central High School in 1967 where she went on to gain a career in lab tech and phlebotomy at Park DuValle Health Center when it first opened in 1968. She later moved to Florida and resided there for 17 years where she continued to work as a phlebotomist. She moved to Louisville in 1989.
She later joined St. Stephen Church where she tried to usher but later found out that her health would not allow her to do so. She became a member of The Class of Ruth Sunday School Class and loved her Sunday School Class members as family.
Roberta volunteered three days a week in two of our hospitals, Jewish and University Hospitals. She loved her work and wanted to give back to the people, what was given to her over the years. She was truly a people person.
She was a retired/disabled employee of Red Cross where she was employed for 11 ½ years as a phlebotomist until her illness in 2001.
She is survived by her loving husband, Elias Williams and his children, Dennis, Christy and Austin; sisters, Jackie Goins, Tonella, Lois, Barbara, and Johnetta; brothers, Robert, L. Briscoe Jr., and Tommy Briscoe; two-dearly beloved sister-in-laws and their husbands, Rosie Williams (Lonnie), and Norma Christopher (Raymond) all of Stephens, Arkansas. Frankie Lockhart and Serlena Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, were friends that I could confide in.
Thank you Jackie for being a little sister to me.
