Robert E. Wright, Sr.

Robert E. Wright, Sr., 76, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, as well as working out in the yard and gardening. Bob was an amazing cook and an avid UK basketball fan. A Catholic by faith, Bob was a selfless man, always doing for others.

He was born on July 26, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late John, Sr., and Mary Wright. Bob was also preceded in death by his sons, Ronnie and Timothy Wright; and brothers, John, Jr., and Don Wright.

Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Fetz) Wright; children, Robert Wright, Jr. (Joanne), Donnie Wright (Sandy), Tina Williamson (James), Carol Raines, and Carl Joe Wright; siblings, Ginger Conklin, Jeannie Mingus (Bill), Jimmy Wright (Diane), and Brenda Minton (Leroy); 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in New Albany.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105).
