Robert “Tyson” Carpenter, beloved father, grandfather, stepfather, friend, and uncle, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Born on March 6, 1978, in Louisville, Tyson’s life was marked by warmth, good humor, resilience, and a generous spirit that touched everyone he met.
Tyson’s journey was shaped by a vivid imagination and a profound kindness. He was known for his innate ability to lift the spirits of those around him, always quick to share a laugh, offer a helping hand, or simply listen with an open heart. Friends and family fondly remember his love for making people laugh and the comfort his gentle presence brought to every room. Tyson loved everyone he met, and that love was returned to him many times over.
His greatest joys in life included time spent outdoors, especially on the golf course or by the water with a fishing rod in hand. Golfing and fishing were more than hobbies for Tyson—they were cherished opportunities to create lasting memories and savor the simple pleasures of life.
One of Tyson’s proudest accomplishments was his journey in recovery, an experience that deepened his gratitude for life and inspired all who knew him. He approached each day with an abiding appreciation for its possibilities and a commitment to enjoying each moment fully.
Tyson leaves behind a loving family who will continue to carry his memory forward: his cherished daughter, Savannah Carpenter; his devoted step-son, Andrew Black (Shelby); his caring step-daughter, Addison Braden; and his beloved grandson, Braxton Black. He also leaves his girlfriend, Miranda Robles, and his nephew, Trey Carpenter, all of whom held special places in his heart.
He is reunited in peace with his mother, Freda Carpenter; his father, David Carpenter; and his brother, Marc Carpenter, who passed before him.
Loved ones and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on July 25, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. A memorial service will follow at the same location, beginning at 5:00 PM.
