Robert Gene Stone Jr. died suddenly on June 29th, 2024 at the age of 66.
Born January 17th, 1958, in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of Robert and Gloria Stone and brother to Ed, Joe, and Claudia. He went to Scribner Middle School, became an Eagle Scout, played football, and graduated from New Albany High School in 1976.
He became husband to the love of his life, Debbie Stone, on April 29th, 1978 and they shared 46 years of marriage together.
He was the devoted and supportive father to his daughters Jennifer Wells (married to John Wells), Sarah Kendall (married to Paul Kendall), and his son, Jake Stone (married to Ashley Stone). He was known as “Pap” to his grandchildren, Luke and Logan Wells, Brooklyn and Annabelle Kendall, and Scarlett, London, Kiley, and Ryder Stone. His kids and grand-kids were his pride and joy.
He was a faithful, loyal, and spiritual man as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and often volunteered in ministry work and building Kingdom Halls.
He was known and respected in the community for being hard working, professional, honest, and fair as the owner of his own business, Stone Concrete, for 40 years. He loved his work and left a legacy of excellent craftsmanship all over southern Indiana and Louisville.
He loved spending time with his family, his friends, his work, riding his Harley, reading, camping, trivia, making everyone laugh, southern classic rock, NASCAR, the Chicago Bears and living life to the fullest.
He will be remembered for being happy, kind, generous, funny, witty, intelligent, and hard working.
Everyone who knew him will miss his big heart, his bright blue eyes, his unmistakeable laugh, his smile, his unique sense of humor, and always helping anyone he could any chance he got.
