Robert Lee "Pete" Sprigler, 87, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on February 21, 2016. He was born on July 15, 1928 in Floyd County, Indiana to Joseph and Margaret (Andres) Sprigler. Pete worked in maintenance at Sonoco Company in New Albany for 34 years. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs who enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Along with his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his siblings; Louis "Tip", Joe, Wolford "Oscar", Charles "Hump" Sprigler, Minnie Larson, Ann Eckert, Mary Gaston, and Louise Kruer. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Koetter) Sprigler; children, Robert "Bob" Sprigler (Brenda), Doris Lindner (Ralph), Tina Malloy (Ray), Lisa Kiesler (Michael); sister, Jane Naville; sister-in-law, Jenny Sprigler; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 1 to 8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, IN 47150). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 1PM in the Chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs (3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow at St Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery.
