Robert Charles Reed

November 27, 1949 — September 5, 2021

Robert C. Reed, 71, passed away on September 5, 2021. Bob worked for Cissell Manufacturing for many years. He was a mechanical whizz and was known for his sense of humor, which accompanied him to his final days. His favorite place to be was Rough River Lake, where he spent many happy summers with his family and the best dog ever, Alex of Strohs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Reed, mother, Mary Reed, his brothers John, Tom and Doug Reed, and his wife and best friend of 49 years, Joyce Reed, whom he lovingly called "Jo".

Bob is survived by his children, Matthew (Tammie), Bobbi Jo (Kevin), Shannon, and Erin (Stephanie); adopted daughter, Jennifer Hornback; grandchildren, Caleb Reynolds, Allie Reynolds, Shelby Gonzales, Emily Gonzales; great-grandsons, Colson Reynolds and Kingston Buckner; sisters, Pat (Stan) and Cathy (Paul), and brothers, Dave (Liz) and Carey (Ruthie).

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Reed's life will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021, beginning at 11am.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, 1000 Lyndon Lane, Louisville, KY 40222.
