Robert Perry, a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 17, 2026, at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Robert served with unwavering dedication and honor in the United States Navy. He completed Aviation Fundamental School, SH-3 A/F, and Hydration System Maintenance, working as ground support for aviation structural mechanic hydraulics on a United States aircraft carrier. His role involved ensuring the safe landing of planes and helicopters. Robert retired from the Navy on January 11, 1977, and later continued his service with the United States Post Office. 

Born on March 11, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Robert was the son of James William Perry and Mary Katherine (Rixman) Perry (who has since passed away). He had a sister, Kathy Silliman (Jerry), and a brother, Glen Perry (Beth), with whom he shared a playful sibling bond. During his high school years, Robert found joy in running track. Beyond his athletic pursuits, he was also an artist, which eventually led him to a successful career in car detailing. In addition, to Robert worked for the United States Post Office, Robert enjoyed playing the guitar and exploring various musical genres. As a passionate football fan, he particularly admired the Indiana Colts. Robert also found solace and enjoyment in the great outdoors. 

A graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, beginning at 2:30pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd., Radcliff, KY. 

Robert, who served in the Navy, married Marilyn Ames on January 25, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, who was his partner for 39 years. He has three sons: Jon Craig Johnston (Kat), Phillip Johnston (Carmen), and Robert Perry, Jr. He also has two stepchildren, Crystal O’Keefe and Thomas O’Keefe (who has passed away). Robert has four grandchildren: Finnly Johnston, Henry and Ella Johnston, and Cherish Bolin. He also has numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
