Robert William Parrish
June 22, 1935 — March 28, 2017
Robert William "Whitey" Parrish, 81, passed away on March 28, 2017. He and his wife, June were former owners of Cecil Payne Café. Whitey was very dedicated in serving the 32nd street community as a grocer for about 60 years with his wife, June.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Catherine Parrish; son, Robert Parrish, Jr.; his twin brother, Walt Parrish, Sammy Parrish and Joe Parrish.
Robert left behind to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, June Wallace Payne Parrish; children, Dr. Vaughn (Debbie) Payne, Celia (Michael) Hallahan and Janice Parrish; his daughter from a previous marriage, Cheri (David) Ernspiker; grandchildren, Erica Olson, Cameron Payne and Jenelle Hallahan; great-grandchildren, Gage, Brennan and Kennedy and sister, Pat Ross.
Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, KY (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 10am-12pm with a celebration of Robert's life beginning at 12pm.
Entombment will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204.
