Robert P. Azinger

Robert P. Azinger, age 89 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015. He was born on January 15, 1926 in Braddock, Pennsylvania. After moving and completing high school in Manchester, CT, he joined the US NAVY. After the war he went to Trinity College in Hartford, and transferred to Tufts University where he graduated BSEE. He started work at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Ct. as a test engineer in 1952. In 1970 he became President of Pratt and Whitney of West Virginia. He finished his career as Plant manager of Pratt and Whitney of North Berwick Maine and retired in 1984. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and Paul; his brother Ralph; his sister Lucille; and also by his daughter Janet.

Bob is survived by loving wife of 66 years, Janet Boyd Azinger; his daughter Joy Ashy (Paul); his son, Robert Jr. (Lisa); sister, Ruth Ann (Roger); 6 grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Cathryn, Robert, III, Michael and Annika; and also a host of family and friends.

Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Bob was a great man who taught us truth, honesty, work ethic, gentleness and generosity.
