OTIS, Robert Allan, 79, beloved father and brother, passed away peacefully Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Forum at Brookside.
Bob was born in Pasadena on March 19, 1938. Before making Louisville his home in 1970, he served in the United States Airforce and had residences in St. Louis, MO and Knoxville, TN.
He co-founded Metro Publishing Co. in 1975, after working in advertising with L M Berry Company and marketing with Rexall Drugs. In his later years, he motivated others through his business consulting.
His charisma made him a natural leader and his love of life charmed those around him. Bob's adventuresome and professional pursuits included a fondness for scuba diving and fishing. Golfing was his favorite as a long-time member at Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evelyn (Moon) Otis, his daughters Debbie Hardley (Bob), and Cheryl Williamson.
He is survived by his children Kevin Otis, Karen Otis, and Matthew Otis, his stepchildren Jennifer Stern (Mark), William Clements (Kelly), Robert Clements (Savannah), and his siblings Catherine Parrot (Thad), Steven Otis (Althea), Margaret DeLaney (Brian), and Michael Otis, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday February 3, at Newcomer, Cremations, Funerals and Receptions in Middletown.
