Robert Lewis Lone, of New Albany, Indiana, passed unexpectedly on August 28, 2026, in New Albany. He was born on December 6, 1965, in New Albany, and throughout his life he was known as a hardworking, honest man with a great sense of humor. A loyal husband, loving father, compassionate grandfather, and devoted brother, Robert made sure the people he loved had what they needed. He was the kind of man whose steady presence brought comfort and strength, and he will be remembered as the glue that held his family together.
Robert worked diligently for a number of years as a carpenter, taking pride in honest work and the life he built through dedication and determination. Beyond his work, he found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures: fishing, playing music, caring for his truck, and heading out for drives to the river or the park. He loved being with his family, his brothers, his children, and his grandchildren, and some of the most treasured memories are of long family drives down to the river to fish and share White Castle sandwiches.
His family will also remember the warmth and humor that made everyday moments special. Robert loved when his daughter Krystal made him meatloaf on his birthday because it brought back the taste of his wife’s cooking. His daughters fondly remember his delighted discovery of the rapper MnM and the way he would cruise around in his truck with the CD playing loud enough for everyone to hear. These moments, full of laughter, music, and togetherness, reflect the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
Among Robert’s greatest blessings and proudest accomplishments was watching his family grow and thrive. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Cunningham, Krystal Lone, and Jamie Farley (Christopher); by his brothers, Kenneth Lone, Rick Lone, and Doug Lone; and by his beloved grandchildren, Harley Briles, Parker Briles, Harper Lone, Jazlene Farley, Gracelynn Farley, and Aviana Elam. Each of them carries forward memories of his love, his humor, and the deep care he showed so freely.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kris (Dora) Lone; his mother, Etta Lone; his father, LeRoy Lone; and his brothers, Michael Lone and Thomas Lone. The love he shared with them remained an enduring part of his life, and their memories were always close to his heart.
