Robert "Bob" Francis Kruer, 78, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away at his home on December 28, 2016. He was a member at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana, was a United States Army veteran who was honorably discharged, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was born on November 25, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Agnes (Thieneman) Kruer. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Bellarmine University. Bob was an avid runner and was a master on the unicycle. He enjoyed playing poker, working crossword puzzles, and dancing. Bob was also known for his vast musical knowledge of all genres and his passion for it and loved attending sporting events, especially for his children. He was a lifelong supporter of the Gibault School for Boys in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother; Eddie Kruer and his brother-in-law, Ed Bobowski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; Mary (Chambers) Kruer; his sons, Dan (Cris), Tim (Bonita), and Jeff Kruer (Sheilla Freeberg); his daughter, Leneita (Kruer) Jackson; siblings, Marvin (Rosie) Kruer, Dennis (Jackie) Kruer, Tom (Mary Jo) Kruer, Diane Szerletich (Mike), Marilyn Biszmaier (Dave), and Faye Bobowski; his sister-in-law, Donna Kruer; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and the mother of two grandchildren, Tonya (Massey) Kruer, father of 2 grandchildren, Joseph "Scott" Jackson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) from 3 to 9 PM with a Rosary Service held at 6 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11 AM at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, (316 North Sherwood Avenue, Clarksville, IN 47129) with cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation for Mass in his honor or a charity of one's choice may be made.
