Robert M Dowell

Robert M Dowell, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born in Breckenridge, Kentucky on July 2, 1922 to the late Virgil and Lula Dowell.
In addition to his parents Robert was proceeded in death by his brother, Vernon Dowell,and his sister, Edith Haynes.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Dorothy L Dowell; step-son, Micheal (Mike) Martin, step-granddaughter, Susan (Nikki) Martin; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
Robert was a Mason for more than 50 years, and enjoyed seeing the guys at Robinson's Lodge #266. He retired from the Army. He was an over the road driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, Mason Dixon and Smith Transfer before retiring in 1983.
In loving memory of Robert, contributions may be made to Hosparus: 3532 Ephraim McDowell Drive, Louisville, Ky. 40205.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held on August 11, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, with visitation from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
