Robert P. DiLuca, 61, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2017. Rob was born in Buffalo, NY on December 5, 1955 to the late Joseph and Mildred DiLuca. He graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo before pursuing a career in finance and accounting. He was a longtime member of AA and drew upon the principles and spirituality of the program and the Bible in guiding his everyday life. His greatest joy was his family. He was so proud of his children, Stephanie and Nicholas, for the young adults they have grown to be and their many accomplishments.
He enjoyed the simple things in life including being outdoors, riding his motorcycle, and his Saturday Pipe Club meetings. Rob will be remembered for his humility, kindness, generosity, and his stand-up comedy routines.
Rob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Susan A. DiLuca; two children, Stephanie N. DiLuca and Nicholas P. DiLuca; three brothers, Joe DiLuca (Lisa) of Rochester Hills, MI, Andrew DiLuca (Pam) of Buffalo, NY, and Kevin DiLuca of Lakewood, NY; nieces and nephews, Jenna, Steven, Adam, Joe, Mary, Jeff, and Halle DiLuca, and Victoria, Patrick, and Richard Valgento; and many special extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Middletown Christian Church, 500 Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY 40243. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the church and continue on Saturday from 12:00 pm until time of service, also at the church.
