Robert D. Marcum

Robert "Bob" Marcum, a true and devoted family man, passed away leaving a profound legacy of kindness, love, and joy.

Bob graduated from DeSales High School before going on to live a remarkably special and full life. For over 40 years, he dedicated his career to working as a stagehand, where he took immense pride in setting up and enjoying countless concerts and events behind the scenes.

Above all else, Bob’s family was his world. His son was his life's ultimate joy. Bob poured his heart into being a coach, a mentor, and a teacher, guiding his son through many of life's most important lessons. An avid sports enthusiast, he never missed a Louisville Cardinals game. Some of his absolute favorite moments in life were spent out on the water fishing or on the field playing softball. Bob truly lived life to the absolute fullest. There isn't a friend, family member, or individual who knew Bob and wasn't changed or shaped by him in some meaningful way. 

Bob is survived by his son, Dustin Dean Marcum; granddaughter, Evangeline Dawn Marcum; brother, Michael Ben Marcum; sisters, Tammy Chamberlain, Christy Adams and Shelly Marcum, along with a host of extended family and friends to cherish his memory forever. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Bob's life beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the same day at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

While Bob's passing has left a heavy weight on all who loved him, his life has left an enduring light. His boundless kindness, love, and joy will continue to guide his family and friends through the times ahead.
