Robert W. Cross Jr., age 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 2nd, 2020.
Robert was born February 18, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky to Robert and Catherine Cross.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilton Cross Sr. and brother, William M. Cross.
Robert is survived by his mother, Catherine Cross, the mother of his children, Jody Jones, sons Robert W. (Mary-Dawn) Cross III, and Joseph W. Cross, daughters April J. Cross and Brandy J. Woods, brother Steve A. (Randi) Cross, Lawrence J. (Lonnie) Cross, sisters Susan (Donald) Newland, Marquetta Cross, grandchildren Robert W. Cross IV, Ryan C. Cross, Andre J. Gatling Jr., Malakai J. Gatling, and many nieces and nephews.
Robert worked for Cecil's Service Center for over forty years and was a skilled mechanic. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather and friend to many. He adored his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and was an all-around family man. His children learned firsthand what dignity and strength looked like as he led by example with his selfless actions. Robert was the first to light up any room with his humor and quick wit. He will be remembered, and missed deeply, as a great man with a heart of gold.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 14th, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions- East Louisville (235 Juneau Drive). A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15th, 2020, at the funeral home with burial to follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Louisville.
