Robert Allen Clark

Robert Allen Clark, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2026.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 1, 1961, Robert had a quick wit, a sassy sense of humor, and a personality that could make people smile. He loved to laugh, enjoyed good company, and never met a stranger for long.

For more than 20 years, Robert proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Camp Taylor Fire District. One of the highlights of every year was volunteering with the WHAS Crusade for Children through the fire district, a tradition he looked forward to and cherished. Serving his community and helping others brought him great pride and fulfillment.

Robert retired from Beacon in 2019 after 15 years of dedicated service, where he built lasting friendships.

An avid University of Kentucky fan, Robert rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his Wildcats. Whether it was basketball or football, if UK was playing, you could almost certainly find him in front of the television proudly rooting for his team.

In 2024, Robert made St. Bartholomew Senior Apartments his home. True to his outgoing nature, he quickly became part of the community. He made friends with residents almost immediately and enthusiastically participated in activities, enjoying the companionship and laughter that came with them. His smile, humor, and friendly conversations will be missed by many there.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta Clark; his parents, William L. Clark Sr. and Florence C. Clark; and his brother, William L. Clark Jr.

He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Cindy Clark; his sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Mike Schnellenberger; his special cousins, Chuck and Linda Pearl, whose love, care, and unwavering support meant so much to him; five stepchildren; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.

Robert will be remembered for his infectious personality, his sharp sense of humor, his generous heart, his dedication to serving others, his love for family and friends, and his unwavering loyalty to the Kentucky Wildcats. He had a way of making people laugh and leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chuck and Linda Pearl for the exceptional love, care, and compassion they showed Robert, and to the friends and staff at St. Bartholomew Senior Apartments, who welcomed him as family and helped make his final years filled with friendship and joy.

Visitation for Robert will be from 1-8PM on Monday, August 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 10304 Dixie Highway. Funeral service will be at 11AM on Tuesday, August 11 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Grayson County.
