Robert Charles Garland Sr.

Robert Charles "Bob" Garland, Sr., 67, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on May 4, 2016. He was born on January 24, 1949, in Harrison County, Indiana, to Donald and Ruth (Washburn) Garland. He was owner and operator of Blue Ribbon Recycling for many years. Bob enjoyed working, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (Washburn) Garland. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Myrna (Johnson) Garland; children, Cindy (Perry) Steele, Robert (Robin) Garland, Jr., and Melissa (Richard) Stroud; his father, Donald Ray Garland; sister, Judy Martin; 9 grandchildren, Bobby, Crystal, Sam, Tabitha, Alysha, Shelby, Kelissa, Ryan, and Corey; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016, and 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
