Robert Earl Cannon, Sr.

Robert Earl Cannon, Sr., 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022. He served in the United States Air Force and was a longtime member of Culbertson Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to Gospel music. The greatest joy in Bob's life was his family and the time they spent together.

He was born on April 18, 1942, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Earnest and Mary (Morris) Cannon. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, James Cannon.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lynda (Hemphill) Cannon; daughter, Tina Bierly (Loren); sons, Robert Cannon, Jr., and Tim Cannon (Lauren); siblings, Earnest Cannon (Barbara), Lana Umbarger (Robert), and Lita Howard; grandchildren, Meliss, Michael, Jeremy Anderson, Emmett, Wyatt, Harlan, and Evelyn Cannon; and great-grandchildren, Alvin Huttsell, Trent Dean, and Jayden, Brendan, and Kaleb Anderson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
