Robert “Bob” Ray Allen, a dedicated family man, veteran, and skilled mechanic, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on January 30, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana, Bob lived a life marked by service, hard work, and a deep love for his family and community.

Bob was a proud 1973 graduate of Borden High School in Borden, Indiana. Following his education, he answered the call to serve his country with honor, enlisting in the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado, where he fulfilled his duties with dedication and pride.

After his military service, Bob embarked on a rewarding career as a mechanic, retiring from IMI Concrete in New Albany, Indiana. His expertise and commitment to his trade earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike.

Beyond his professional life, Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of outdoor activities. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, activities through which he forged many cherished memories. Additionally, he nurtured a profound connection to nature by raising honeybees, showcasing his appreciation for the environment and its delicate ecosystems.

Bob’s greatest pride and joy were his family and the moments he spent with them. He especially treasured quality time with his grandchildren, finding immense happiness in their company. His legacy of kindness and generosity shone brightly through his love and support for those closest to him.

He is survived by his beloved sons, Joshua (MaryBeth) Allen and Brandon (Chelsea) Allen; his devoted brother, Gary (Joe) Allen; seven cherished grandchildren-Jade, Westin, Garret, Mallory, Liam, Oakleigh, and Tate-and one precious great-granddaughter, Charlotte (Charlie).

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Charlotte Allen, and his brother, Roy (Bruz) Everett Allen.

His life is remembered with great respect and fondness by all who knew him. Robert “Bob” Ray Allen’s story is one of dedication, love, and quiet strength-a legacy that will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
