Rita Carol Richart

Rita Carol Richart, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was a graduate of Providence High School and retired after a career as a secretary/stenographer for Brown & Eldrid Law Office in Louisville. Rita was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
She was born on November 12, 1941, in New Albany, Indiana, to Louis and Leoda (Elbers) Richart. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her siblings, JoAnne Heard and John Richart; and sister-in-law, Glenda Richart. Rita is survived by her brothers, William Richart and Anthony Richart (Marla); nephew, Chris Richart (Malissa); nieces, Tracey Caparrelli, Frances Stone, and Tiffany Smith (Bo); and several great-nieces and -nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany) with her funeral mass taking place at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
Rita was a very kind and generous soul, always supporting numerous charitable organizations. Contributions in her honor may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
